ASK A TEEN to critique the first 5 pages of your YA manuscript!

We all know that those first five pages are crucial. Pulling the reader in... hoping they will want to read more, more, more!

So, in celebration of spreading the love this Valentine's Day,
I will be offering TEN free "Ask a Teen" 5 page feedbacks!

Here's your chance to get feedback from your target audience. A teen from my ASK A TEEN crew will read the first five pages of your manuscript (completed or WIP is fine!)and give honest feedback--what they liked, what turned them off, if they laughed, cried, or had shivers down the back of their neck. Most importantly... did those pages make them want to read more.

If you would like to have your first five pages read by a member of the AaT crew, please enter the contest through the Rafflecopter below. All MUST be YA (any genre therein is fine!)

Ten lucky winners will be selected to receive a first-five pages critique from one of the AaT crew. You have until midnight, February 14th, 2015 to enter.

Keep in mind, the teens will not be proofreading or picking out grammar mistakes...they will be addressing first impressions, characterization, pacing, and so on. And...they will tell you if based on those first five pages they would want to keep reading.

*Remember, all AaT responses are purely subjective. And if it isn't one reader's cup of tea, it doesn't mean another reader might not absolutely LOVE it!

Keep reading, keep writing, and never forget to love....

Get SUMMER OF HOPE for FREE on your kindle for two days on Amazon!

Do you like a great tear-jerker YA Contemporary novel? Then here's your chance! For the next two days, you can download SUMMER OF HOPE for FREE on your Kindle!

(Blurb from the back of the book)
After her twin brother’s death, sixteen-year-old Callie shuts down. Forced to go to her family’s summer beach house, she resolves to erase the pain any way she can. Enter the "Perfect’s”—the Gold Card group of girls who offer escape in the form of parties, booze and boys.
Things change when she meets Ethan. After a major case of mistaken identity, Callie does her best to convince herself she couldn't care less if Ethan looks like he just stepped out of a magazine and is completely adorkable to boot. Despite trying to keep her distance, Callie is drawn to his sweet ways and sexy smile. She falls hard—but her world comes crashing down when she discovers he's been hiding a secret that could change everything. Ethan came to the beach to escape, to live without the label. Because his label... is the kid with Hodgkin's disease.

Callie is left with the choice of standing by Ethan's side and watching another person she loves die, or running and abandoning the one person who helped her to believe in love again. Fight or flight?
Callie’s decision ends up putting her own life in danger, and changes the lives of everyone around her, forever.

What other Amazon readers have said about SUMMER OF HOPE:
A quick, engaging and tear-jerker of a read that will stick with you long after the last page,
This is one of those books that "haunt" you. The kind of book that leaves you feeling like you lived it, and you still feel it for days to come.
I started reading this book one night, and read it straight through. I, literally, could not put it down. I didn't even mind that I paid for lack of sleep the next day. It is so beautifully written, and affected me deeply. I would find myself smiling, worrying, laughing, and crying. Not just crying, but full on sobbing. I was afraid I might wake up my husband and children!
I will look forward to more from this author, and one could only hope-soon!

Amazing Story of Love and Loss...
This is a book for teenagers and adults alike. Everyone can relate, and you will not be disappointed. Have a tissue ready, though!

WOW!
First off, I rarely cry when reading sad books. But this book had me crying all the way through. I NEVER cried when I read If I stay. The one thing that went through my head when I finished was a song. Roller coaster by Luke Bryan. I was blown away by this book and all I could think was...WOW!

I hope you enjoy reading SUMMER OF HOPE as much as I enjoyed writing it. And as always, I love to hear from my readers! You can can reach me through the "contact" section on my website. Reviews on Amazon or Goodreads are always appreciated as well.

Always remember to love..... ~J
